The MIX232 module is an 8-channel high-speed synchronous and asynchronous communications controller designed for applications requiring rapid data acquisition and transmittal.  Each of the eight independent Wide Area Network (WAN) channels is coupled with a dedicated integrated universal serial controller (IUSC) for full-duplex data exchanges. Data rates are enhanced by two full-capacity 16MHz DMA channels in each IUSC.

The MIX-232 is compatible with the RS-232 electrical specification and physical layer communications protocol.  It is designed to sustain full-duplex synchronous and asynchronous data rates up to 64Kbps.  The MIX-232 module can be stacked to a maximum level of three modules for up to 24 channels on each MIX baseboard.
